HACHEY, GILES - 1942 - 2014 - Giles Hachey, 72, of Riverview and formerly of Bathurst, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 surrounded by his family and friends at The Moncton Hospital following a short battle with cancer. Born March 28, 1942 in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Ulric and Beatrice (Picot) Hachey. Prior to his retirement, Giles worked in the field of home construction, steel buildings and land development. Most recently, Giles worked as a Security Guard with the Commissionaires in Moncton and Dieppe. He loved to golf, play cards and spend time with the family pets that he loved so much… Buddy, Bonnie, Oreo and Cookie. He was a client of CNIB for several years and was a proud member of not only the Riverview Lions Club but his 31 years with AA as well. Giles was much loved and will be greatly missed by his wife Arline and son Stephen (Doreen) as well as sisters Stella Anne (Gerry) Daigle of Saint Thomas and Irma Smith of Calgary; brothers Daniel of Fredericton, Edbert (Rollande) of Orleans, ON; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter Cynthia, brother Bernon and sister Lucille.
The family will be receiving friends and relatives at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (506-869-2007) on Friday from 6 to 8pm with the Riverview Lions Club holding a memorial service at the funeral home at 5:45pm. A service celebrating his life will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11am.
