Donald 'Donnie' Joseph  Hollohan

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Donald J. Hollohan. on Sept. 1, 2014
Raised in Whitney Pier, he was the son of William and Johanna (Cashin) Hollohan. Donnie was a husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife Mona MacDonald; daughter, Launa Beth (Brad) Rafuse; two grandchildren, Jensen 10 and Kelden 7, living in Sharon, Ont. Also surviving his brother, Ted (Joan), Edmonton Alta.; sisters, Madeline Moss, Sydney and Margie (James) Gallivan, Connecticut, USA; sisters-in-law, Anne, and Eva 'Babe'.
Predeceased by his first wife, Inis McInnis; brothers, Tom, Paul, Jim, Richard; sisters, Mary MacAulay and Sr. Elizabeth Hollohan.
Donnie retired after 33 years working in the Safety Department of the Sydney Steel Plant. He was also an active member of the K.O.C. for many years and was a honourary member. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards with the boys, and spending his winters in Florida.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5th at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6th at St. Theresa’s Church, Rev. Jim Oliver officiating. Interment in Holy Family Cemetery, MacKay’s Corner, Glace Bay
We, the family, would like to thank the staff at the Halifax Infirmary and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their kindness and care he received.
Donations may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or the Halifax Infirmary.
