Marie Louise (née Fleuter) Moebis passed away on August 28, 2014 at the Dinsmore Care Home, Dinsmore, Saskatchewan at the age of 93.
She was born on April 15, 1921 at the Fleuter farm two miles south of Demaine. She attended Demaine School, walking to and from school every day summer or winter. After graduating from Grade 12 she attended Saskatoon Normal School and obtained her teaching certificate. She taught at Paradise Hill, Neasdon school in the district of Beechy and at Beechy School.
Marie married Paul Moebis on October 11, 1945. They lived and raised their family on the farm on the outskirts of Beechy. Marie was known for her hospitality, generosity, bountiful gardens, beautiful flowers, and unending kindness. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Marie is survived by her daughters, Joan (Joe Saville), of Consul, Saskatchewan, Dianne (Calvin Clark) of Iqaluit, Nunavut, sons Bill (Barb) of Demaine, Saskatchewan, and Allen (Donna) of Beechy, Saskatchewan; grandchildren Clarke (Jennifer) Moebis, Kristan Moebis (Shannon Wiens), Sean Clark (Sabrina Hoque), Stephanie Clark (Todd Galloway), Shane (Heather) Moebis, Trevor Moebis (Alison Fandrich) and Aron Moebis (Selena Stokke-Lobb), five great-grandchildren, brother Arthur (Connie) Fleuter, sister-in-law Margareta Fleuter and numerous nieces and nephews
She was predeceased by her husband Paul, her mother and father, Marie Louise and Victor Joseph Fleuter, her brothers Joseph, George, Henry "Hank", Victor, sister Georgette, brothers-in-law Willie Moebis and Adolph Prinz, sisters-in-law Lizzie Prinz, Kay Moebis and Helen Fleuter, uncle Pierre Lamande and nephews Doug Fleuter and Baby Fleuter.
Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Beechy United Church with The Reverend David Nevett officiating. The Eulogy and Memories of Grandma were shared by Marie's Grandchildren. Pianist was Sylvia Haugen, ushers were Francis Fleuter and Joe Fleuter, and register attendants were Betty Fawns, Olive Perrin and Audrey King. Interment took place at Valiant Cemetery with Marie's Grandchildren Clarke Moebis, Kristan Moebis, Sean Clark, Stephanie Clark, Shane Moebis, Trevor Moebis and Aron Moebis acting as pallbearers.
