Boyd, Clarence Roland “Obe”, 90, of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born on June 14, 1924 in Windsor Forks, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Rose (Ettinger) Boyd. Obe worked as a carpenter for BD Stevens for many years, retiring thirty years ago. He was a veteran of WW 2. His passion was his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and keeping up with the events in their daily lives. He enjoyed the time he spent on his woodlot and he also enjoyed his helpful neighbours and good friends, especially Bob Boyd who took him to the horse shows where he got to watch the horse pulls. Surviving are his wife of sixty eight years, the former Elizabeth MacDonald; daughters, Dianne Boyd, Dartmouth; Elaine Boyd (Garry Darris), New Minas; Doralee (David) Amos, East Lawrencetown; daughter-in-law, Christine Burbidge-Boyd, Lacombe, Alberta ; grandchildren, Kimberley, Kelly, Kandace, Paul, Elizabeth, Darcy; great grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Max, Sawyer, Nathaniel, Heidi, Clara, Ethan, Breah, Haidyn; several nieces and nephews; special family member, Dan Boyd. Predeceased by sons, Wayne and Stephen; brothers, Arthur, Hensley, Harold, Terry, Leslie; sisters, Sadie, Hannah, Ruth, and Lena. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm Friday, September 5, 2014 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232), 194 King Street, Windsor. Memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, September 6, 2014 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tom Henderson officiating. Interment will be in the Windsor Forks Community Cemetery.
