Peacefully at the Garden Home in Charlottetown on Wednesday, December 24, 2008, of William (Bill) David Johnston Butler of Charlottetown, age 89 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Loving husband of Lois (nee MacMillian). Dear father of Lorne (Lisa); Darlene (Harold) Green; and Heather. Grandfather of Trevor and Ryan Collings and Savannah and Lydia Butler and great grandfather of Lorelai Collings, Rae-Lea Young and Patrick Collings. Also survived by his sister and brother Ella Young, Shirley MacSwain, Helen MacSwain and Harry Butler and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters and brothers Jean Witton, Myrtle Peters, Lydia Crawford, Clair Butler, Ethel MacSwain, Lloyd and Merrill. Resting at Ferguson’s Montague Funeral Home until Monday, then to Peters Road Church for funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment in the Peters Road Cemetery. Private family visitation only. Montague Branch #8 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance for their comrade at the funeral home on Sunday.
