Westville - Herbert Blaine Mackie, Aug. 26, 1942 – Sept. 5, 2014. Blaine was a lifelong member of Pipefitters Local 244, Antigonish, starting as an apprentice during the construction of the Scott Paper Mill. He was a Master Mason belonging to the Western Star Lodge in Westville. Blaine loved to hunt, fish and play cards with his friends and family. He was predeceased by his mother, Shirley (Mason) Mackie and father, William Herbert Mackie. He is survived by brothers: Glenn (Bev); Faber (Patricia); Gary (Teresa), San Diego; sister, Penny (Jon) Sortori, San Diego; sons: Dereck, Chris and Steven; daughters: Crystal and Sherri; nieces: Sherri, Kaitlyn and Melissa; nephews: Glenn Jr. and Faber Jr.; cousins: Dell Butler and Angelie (Peter) McCarron. As requested by the deceased, cremation will take place. There will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the R.H.
