At the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, December 28, 2008, of James Ivan (Leonard) Lafferty, Charlottetown, age 72 years. Beloved husband of Leona (Noonan) Lafferty. Loving father of Ruthann Esligar (Gary), Edmonton, AB, and Susan Curley (Allan), Cornwall, P.E.I. Cherished Gramps to his grandchildren Joshua and Nathan Curley and to his step-grandchildren Barrett (Terri) and Angie Esligar. Brother of Kimball Lafferty (Brenda), Binbrook, ON. Survived by his sisters-in-law Eleanor Pollard (Sandy), Texas; Marilyn Smith (Leo), Freetown; Nora Rogers (James), Winsloe; and by his brothers-in-law Philip Noonan (Lorraine), Albany; Paul Noonan (Barbara), Florida; Michael Noonan, Summerside; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ivan and Elizabeth MacKinnon (nee Gauthier) Lafferty, by his stepfather Watson MacKinnon, by his sister and brother-in-law Verna Martell (Valour), by his father and mother-in-law Russell and Ruth Noonan, by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anne Duffy (James) and by his brother-in-law John Noonan. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home until Tuesday at 12:45, then to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 1 p.m. Interment later in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.
