Carmie Venetia Kirkwood, age 77 of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Sunny Brae, passed away September 14, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Country Harbour, NS, she was a daughter of the late Charles Edgar and Gertrude Bell (Gay) Jordan.
Carmie had been a resident of Sunny Brae before moving to Glen Haven Manor in New Glasgow.
She is survived by her companion and dear friend Alexander “Sandy” DeYoung; sons Sandy (Enida), Westville; Mearl, New Glasgow; daughters Connie Paul, Ontario; Dolly (Randall) MacIsaac, Churchville; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brothers Mearl, Westville; Wayne (Joyce), Stellarton; sister Colleen O’Brien, Stellarton, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister Connie.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request of the deceased. A private family service will be held in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Burial will be in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.
