LeBLANC, EDGAR - We, his family, sadly announce the passing of Edgar LeBlanc, 76. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late Alexis and Anna (Robichaud) LeBlanc. Edgar passed away peacefully on Monday September 15, 2014, in hospital surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was retired from Transport Canada in Ottawa, where he had worked and resided for 40 years before returning to Moncton to enjoy his retirement. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy (Dot) Votour, and the loving and caring father of his daughters: Denise Busby (Steve) and Nicole LeBlanc (Bruce Enloe), both of Kemptville, Ont., and the proud Grampie of Abigail Enloe-LeBlanc. He is also survived by a sister, Diane Quagliozzi (Bill), Billerica, MA, and three brothers: John (Ruth), Waltham, MA, Father Philippe, Toronto, Ont., and Paul (Helena), Moncton as well as a sister-in-law, Nancy Votour, Moncton and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two infant children, Daniel, and Lynn, and a sister, Pauline Kirke. Edgar and Dot were active in the Worldwide Marriage Encounter movement for 37 years, presenting enrichment weekends to married couples and religious. They were members of their church choir, as well as the liturgy committee. Edgar enjoyed bowling with Les Jeunes Loups.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton, (858-1900) on Monday, September 22, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 10 am until time of departure (10:45). His life will be celebrated at the funeral mass on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11 am at St-Louis-de-France Roman Catholic Church, 5 Pleasant Street, Moncton. A reception will follow in the church hall.
