Gertrude M. Pink
December 6, 1925- September 21, 2014


It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gertrude Pink (nee Hill) announces her passing on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at the Charles LeGrow Health Centre at the age of 88.Born in Port-aux-Basques; she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Dorothy (Keeping) Hill. Gertie is survived by her loving husband, Samuel of 54 years; son, George (Sandra), grandchildren, Christopher and Caitlyn, adopted son Gordon Hill; sisters, Betty Horwood (Lloyd), Annie Noel and brother, John (Bethina) Hill. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Elsie Fong and Bertha Broderick. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home. Visitation was held on Monday, September 22, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service was on Tuesday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church. Interment to follow at Barachois Hill Cemetery. Donations in Gertie’s memory may be made to the St. James Anglican Church. Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.fillatre.ca
