Passed peacefully away after a brief illness at home in Apple Valley, California in the presence of her loving family on September 3rd. Leaving to mourn her loving husband and best friend, Paul, sons James and Daniel; parents Sam and Patricia Atkins, Kelligrews; brothers Robert (Fadi), daughter Olivia, Toronto; Mark fiance Shavonne, Toronto; sister Claudette Snell (Adam), daughter Taylor of Australia. Father-in-law Gerald McCluskey of Fredericton; brothers-in-law Barry McCluskey, Ottawa; Brian McCluskey (Lyndsay) daughter Kalin of Fredericton; sister-in-law Mary Corrigan (Terry), children Dara and Shane (Ottawa). Also leaving to mourn her Aunts: Mary Corbett (Joe), Holyrood; Dorothy Wakeham (Kevin) Labrador City; Mary Smith, Shelburne, NS; Loretta Quinlan, Winnie Quinlan, Kelligrews; Eileen Connors, Halifax; Marge O'Brien (Frank) Cambridge, ON; Evelyn Brown (Tom) Calgary (AB); Lillian Atkins, Cambridge, ON. Numerous cousins as well as many friends both in NL and California, especially special friends Angela Penney, Wendy Taylor and Michelle Cronin. Jacqueline was a graduate of MUN with degrees in Arts, Education and Science as well as a Masters in Education from California State University. Her entire career was in the field of intellectual disabilities. She will be remembered for her passion for teaching and the love she had for her students. A Memorial Mass was held on September 10th. At Our Lady of the Desert Church in Apple Valley. Inurnment to take place from St. Edwards, Kelligrews, NL. Notice at a later date. Donations in her memory to be made to her favourite Charity, Special Olympics, CBS Chapter.
