Chisholm, Keith E. - 55, of Economy, Colchester County passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at home. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Willard and Gladys (Higgins) Chisholm; as well, chosen parents, the late Ira and Ethel (Meekins) Elliott. He was a woodsman for many years. He enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing and bird-watching. He was a volunteer fireman with the Economy Fire Brigade for more than 30 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Nelda Richards; his children, Nathaniel, of Economy and Australia; Keith (Megan), Northern Canada; Trish (Darrell Holt), Glenholme; Joe, Truro; two grandchildren, Danika and Sahara Jean; sisters, Bernice, Ruth Ann; brothers, Stanley, Robert; half-sisters, Nancy and Debbie Mattix; a half-brother, Danny Mattix; chosen brother, Logan Elliott (Linda), Economy; mother-in-law, Stella Power, Economy; special nephew, Mike “Tommy” Elliott (Penny Lewis), Five Islands; several nieces and nephews. Also, special friend, Gerald Elliott, Economy. He was predeceased by a brother, George. He will be greatly missed by his cat, Patches and Lucy the Dog. Visitation Friday [September 26, 2014] from 6-8 p.m. at the Economy United Church, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday [September 27, 2014], Rev. Florence Antle-Brison and Pastor Stephen Maclean officiating. Burial in the Economy Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Economy Community Centre.
