Mildred "Mim" Hanley

HANLEY, MILDRED "MIM" - 1935 - 2014 - Mim Hanley of Moncton and formerly of Montgomery Ave., Riverview, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Born in River Glade, NB, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Evelyn (Gray) Brown. Mim had a very rewarding career in nursing for over 44 years, she was the head nurse of The Moncton Hospital Psychiatric Unit for over 11 years, followed by 27 years with Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home where she was employed as admissions, day program and health care coordinator. Following this, she enjoyed working in private home care for five years. Mim loved spending time at the cottage on Main River in Kent County and had a great love for writing, music and she devoted her life to her family and her professional career as a registered nurse. Left with loving and fond memories; her daughter, Shelley Rowat (George) of Moncton, Shane Hanley (Stephanie) of Riverview, her grandchildren; Bennett, Lauren and Logan Hanley, Matthew and Joey Berry, Olivia, Hayden and Brooklyn Rowat, sister-in-law, Valerie Brown of Summerside and brother-in-law, Frank Holt (Helen) of Fredericton as well as several nieces and nephews which she maintained a close and loving relationship. Besides her parents Mim was predeceased by her husband, Leo B. Hanley in 2001, sisters; Ethel Gardiner and Ruth Holt, brother, Charles Brown, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends at Cobb’s Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Rd., Riverview (869-2007) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. The funeral service will take place at Cobb’s Funeral Home Memorial Chapel on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 11 AM with Rev. Aaron Billard officiating, the interment will take place at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. Donations to Pine Hill Cemetery, Salisbury, C/O 3221 Main Street, Salisbury, NB E4J 2K7 or The Friends of the palliative care unit at The Moncton Hospital.
