Rita Foote, 85, formerly of Lamaline, NL passed peacefully away in the presence of her only daughter on September 25, 2014, at the S. A. Glenbrook Lodge, which was Rita's home for the last 8 years. Rita was the youngest of thirteen children. Predeceased by parents George and Margaret Bonnell, darling infant son, husband Wesley Sr., son-in-law, Malcolm Tucker; siblings Alice, John, Hannah, George, Effie, Lewis, Leah, Catherine, Edgar, Emily, Mark & Winnifred. Mom is survived by children Lloyd (Sheila), Barbara, Wesley (Diana), Randy (Sheila) and Derrick; grandchildren Krista Anderson (Jeremy), Erin Shea (Brendan), Wesley Tucker (Sharon), John Foote, Stephen Foote (Nancy), Sarah Foote (Michael Clark), Adam and Brent Foote; great grandchildren Dylan Foote, Elizabeth Shea and newly arrived in the circle of life, Samuel Tucker. Also leaving to mourn sisters-in law Vera Piccott, Gertrude Foote and a large circle of extended family and friends. Mother spent many fulfilling years involved in St. Mary's Church in the ACW, as a choir member and Sunday school teacher. Mother loved volunteering at St. Luke's Home, spending time with residents and using her gift of music, playing hymns in the chapel. Anyone who met Mom knew what a special person she was and the depth of her faith. Life was a journey of ministry for Mom. A sincere thank you is extended to Mom's second family at the S. A. Glenbrook Lodge. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation from 7-9 p.m. Friday, September 26th and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th. The celebration of Mom's life will take place at St. Mary's Church on Monday September 29 at 11:00 am with burial to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Forest Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Glenbrook Lodge or St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in St. John's.
