It is with great sadness that the family of the late JOAN ROWLANDS of Jean de Baie announces her passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin, on Saturday, September 20th, 2014, at the age of 54. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are husband Jerome of 31 years; son, Randy (Trina) of Clarenville; daughter, Shannon of Jean de Baie; grandchildren, Samantha and Matthew Rowlands; mother, Marjorie McKnight of Marystown; father, Charlie (Jennie) Lewis of Marystown; brothers, Al Lewis of Little Bay, Ed (Madge) Lewis of Little Bay, Philip (Marion) Fitzpatrick of Marystown and Wallace Fitzpatrick of Marystown; sisters, Brenda (John) Farrell of Little Bay, Collette (Allan) Penney of Ontario, Mary Hickey of Nova Scotia, Mercedes (James) Cheeseman of Marystown, Lenora (Wayne) Antle of Burin, Margarita (Walter) Power of Marystown, Bernadette (Bill) Dicks of Paradise; sister-in-law, Linda Fitzpatrick of Creston South; plus a large circle of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by parents, Thomas & Elizabeth Fitzpatrick and brother, Patrick Fitzpatrick.

The Mass of Christian Burial took place on Tuesday, September 23rd, at 2:00 pm. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery in Marystown. In Joan’s memory donations may be made to The Rowlands Family or flowers gratefully accepted.
