We acknowledge that we have been blessed by having our Mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and Friend Bell Garland and we celebrate her life. Born in St. John's in January 1915, for almost 100 years Bell was one who lived the good life and was an example of her strong faith. She endeavored to instill in all of her family love, kindness, a strong work ethic, family values and a dependence on the Creator. Bell is predeceased by her husband Fred, son David, grandson Mark, great granddaughter Gulia, her parents and siblings. She leaves behind daughters Joan (Richard) and Judy (John), daughter in law Diane, sons Walter (Florence) and Bob (Janet), Grandchildren, Shari (John), Linda (Beat), Sunita (Peter), Judy (Edward), Susan (Lewis), Sandra, Janet (Keith), Scott (Linda), Steven, Nancy, Erica, and Victoria (Pranay), 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, brother in law Alex (Joan); sister in law Jean and numerous nieces and nephews. Bell also wished to acknowledge Ruth Shute, Lorraine Best, John Williams and the staff of both Hillcrest Manor and the Masonic Park for their kindness, friendship and dedication. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave on Thursday between 7pm -9pm and Friday from 10am - Noon, 2pm - 5pm and 7pm - 9 pm, and Saturday from 1pm - 2pm. The Funeral Service will take place at Barrett's Chapel on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 2:30pm with internment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
