65, Charlottetown, P.E.I., passed away January 1, 2009, at home in Cole Harbour, N.S., with his son, Allan “Allie”, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer, by his side. Born in Charlottetown on March 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Gordon and Sadie (Doucette) Gallant. Allan was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying both fishing and hunting. He enjoyed watching pro sports on the television and had a great fondness for dogs. His most recent employment was with the City of Charlottetown in the Public Works Department. Allan is survived by his son, Allan (Jennifer), Cole Harbour, N.S.; brother, Paul, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; and sisters, Florence and Junie, Ontario; and Joanne, Charlottetown, P.E.I. He was predeceased by his wife, Sharon (O’Connor); brothers, Earl and Joseph; and sister, Marge. Al and Jenn would like to extend special thanks to the Greater Halifax Palliative Care team, especially Susan, Ruby, and Dave; the VON; Don Kyte; Dr. Stacey; Roy and Gwen Teal; and his close friend Kevin. Cremation has taken place and in respect to Allan’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. In memory of Allan, donations in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society or your local SPCA would be greatly appreciated.
