MURPHY, GARY WAYNE JOSEPH - After a period of failing health, Gary Murphy, loving husband of 43 years to Pixie (Burnside) Murphy, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with family by his side. He was born in Saint John, NB on February 7th, 1951 to the late Ronald and Edna (Lindsay). Gary loved a good game of pool or darts and he was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was self-employed for most of his career and worked alongside his father as a carpenter for many of those years. Gary loved his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his eye. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his children Wayne Murphy (Christina), Carrie Beach (Lena) and Theresa Eldridge (Ryan); sister Rhonda Murphy; grandchildren Aleasha, Katelynn, Kendra, Joy and Keisha; great grandson Mason, Chuck Eldridge, his special dog Gemmie and several extended family members and friends. A special thank you to the Dr's, Nurses and Staff of 4B South and the Palliative Care Unit of the Saint John Regional Hospital for their compassionate care of Gary.
Arrangements were entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) Cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date.
