Mabel MacDonald, 101, of Sydney passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at the Cove Guest Home.
Born in Comfort Cove, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Dulcie (Baker) White.
Mabel is survived by her daughter Shirley (Roland) Acorn, Ont., son Ron (Ruth), Philippines, sister Lillian Belbin, Deer Lake, N.L., brothers, Ray (Gertie) White, Deer Lake, N.L., Albert (Margaret) White, Point of Bay, N.L., five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Gordon MacDonald, a son Donald in infancy, several brothers and sisters.
Visitation will take place Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11a.m. in Sydney Memorial Chapel with Majors Kent and Dena Hepditch officiating. Interment in Hardwood Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army Citadel, Sydney.
