77 of Herring Cove, passed away October 5, 2014 at the QEII – VG Site. Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Abraham and Marion (Tricket) Oxford. Her family meant everything to her. When her children grew up, she joined her husband and worked in the family business, Murphy and Warton Plumbing. Joyce loved her jigsaw puzzles, a good game of cards as well as her vacations in Florida. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Janet (Gordon) Heaney; grandchildren, Chad, Amanda (Keith Saulnier); great granddaughter, Peyton; sisters, Millie, Marion, Pearl; brother, Norv as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George “Butch”; son, Allan as well as several brothers and her sister. Cremation has taken under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax. A graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Salvation Army.
