PARKS, DELBERT P. - Durham, NS - It is with great sadness that the family of Delbert Paul Parks announces his passing, after a short battle, on October 7, 2014. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, he was a son of the late Rouel and Peggy Parks. Delbert will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Laurinda; his children, Christina (Stephen) Cox, Milton, Ontario; Blair (Karyl) Parks, Ottawa, Ontario; Gail (Tim Barron) Parks, Elmsdale; and beautiful grandchildren, Christopher, Cameron, Stirling and Briana. He is also survived by siblings, Janice, Patsy, Sharon, Marilyn, Michael, Randy, Burney and Kevin. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Dwayne and Brian.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 PM Saturday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. A celebration of his life will take place 6:00 PM Sunday from the McLaren Funeral Home Chapel, Pictou, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit for the love and care they gave Delbert during his stay.
