It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Libby Dowden. Libby passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at the L.A. Miller Centre, Palliative Care Unit at the age of 70 years. Predeceased by her parents Dunstan and Eleanor MacCormac (nee Comerford), special uncle James D. Higgins and aunt Catherine Higgins. Leaving to mourn her husband Bob; sons Bob (Brenda) and Chris (Kris); daughter Jennifer (Ian); six grandchildren Benjamin, Victoria, Mitchell, Jacob, Katie and Jane; brother Paul; sister- in-law Penny Dowden, Audrey Dowden, and brother-in-law Harold (Joan) Dowden; special friends Frank and Cathy O'Leary and family, Dr. Walter and Marian Tucker, Ruthann Ryan, Joanie Green, Joe and Lorna Kavanagh and a large circle of family and friends. Special thanks to the Drs, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit and the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Clinic who took such great care of Libby. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place from the Basilica of St. John the Baptist at 9:30am on Tuesday, October 14, 2014.
