Catherine “Kay" Belle West entered into rest at the E.J. McQuigge Lodge on Wednesday, October 8, 2014, in her 92nd year. Daughter of the late Gordon and Adah Millar of Ellerslie. Beloved wife of George Harold West of Belleville. Loving mother of Gordon West of Toronto, Beryl West (Roxy) of Nanton, AB, Dianne West of Cortes Island, BC, Bruce West of Fergus and Richard (Tanya) West of Belleville. Dearly loved by grandchildren, Carey, Kyle, Hollie, Heather, Caitlyn, Liam and by two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Frances. Also survived by sisters, Janet Ramsay and Rachel Waugh, and brother, Orval Millar, all of P.E.I. She is predeceased by brother, Peter Millar and sister Beryl Hunter. The family received friends at the Steele Funeral Home, Moira Street Chapel, 30 Moira Street West, Belleville (1-877-256-3688) on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service was held at St. Columba Presbyterian Church (corner of Bridge and Farley Avenue) on Saturday, Oct. 11, at 10 a.m. Interment was held at Cherry Valley Cemetery. Memorial donations to St. Columba Church or the Quinte Field Naturalists.
