Dave Willett of Glace Bay passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Dominion, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Margaret (Matheson) Willett.
In his younger years, Dave served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He was employed with the Commissionaire Corps of Canada for several years. Dave was an avid reader. He loved his grandchildren dearly and they always referred to him as, “Poppy”.
Dave is survived by two daughters, Lana (Mark) MacNevin, Halifax, Cindy Willett, Vancouver, one son, Lloyd Willett, Glace Bay; one sister, Mary (Ian) Mercer, Glace Bay and two grandchildren, Sara and Emily MacNevin.
He was predeceased by his wife, Audrey (Warcop) Willett in 2006.
A private interment will take place in St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery, Glace Bay with Rev. Vernon Reid officiating.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay.
