
Maurice Leger
LEGER, MAURICE "BEAR" - Maurice Leger also known as Bear the Tinker of Scoudouc, N.B. died September 1st at St-Mary’s of the Lake Hospital in Kingston, Ontario, at the age of 59 after a brave battle with cancer. Maurice was the son of the late Alonzo and Irene Leger. He is survived by his wife Annie, two daughters Bretannie (Russell Loveland) and Carol (Shane Parkinson) and two step-daughters, Erica (Dave Craig) and Jessica (Thomas Myers) and a sister Anne-Marie Leger. He is also survived by six grandchildren Wyatt, Estelle, Emma, Sara, Tyler and Lincoln and nephew Sebastian. Maurice was a blacksmith farrier for many years. He also worked at Kings Landing in Fredericton. He loved to entertain people with his songs, many musical instruments and stories, playing for fairs, markets and special events. He was an avid hunter with dogs, a yurt building instructor, caravan builder, and crafter of bows and arrows. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A celebration to honor Bear will be held on Saturday, October 25th in Markhamville at the Markhamville Hall at 3 pm.
