BROWNE, FRANK - At the Upper River Valley Hospital, Waterville, NB, October 15, 2014, Mr. Frank (Sam, Sandy) Browne of Grand Falls Portage passed away at the age of 66 years. He was the husband of Norma (Clowes) (Gillespie) Browne. Born at Grand Falls in 1948, he was a son of the late Frank and Hazel (Downing) Browne. Sam farmed a number of years in Gillespie Settlement and later went to work for Portage Farms until his retirement in 2010. Sam enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially telling stories to his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Besides his wife, he is survived by children, Eddie Browne (Julie), Patrick Gillespie (Linda), Michael Gillespie, Dana Gillespie (Pam), all of Grand Falls, Janet Gillespie (Michelle) of Miramichi, Nancy Cain (Glen) of Saint John, sister, Ella Stoparczyk (George) of Kingston, Ontario, brother, Dana Browne (Florence) of Grand Falls, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 2:30 p.m. His funeral service will be held Saturday, October 18th at 3 p.m. from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls Portage, with Father Gilbert Doddatto officiating.
