Passed peacefully away at Presentation Convent, Cathedral Square, St. John's on Saturday, October 18, 2014, aged 88 years. Predeceased by her parents Maria and Bernard Gardiner, her sisters Bridget (David) Clements; Mildred Gardiner; her brothers, Cecil (Rose); Francis; Gerald (Bridget); Jack (Effie); Patrick (Mary) and Ronald. Leaving to mourn and celebrate her life are: her sisters, Agatha (Patrick dec.) Gallagher and Susan (Patrick) Bromley; her sister-in-law Lucy; the Presentation Sisters; devoted nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sister Zita is resting at Presentation Motherhouse, Cathedral Square, St. John's. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 21st from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.; Wednesday, October 22nd from 10:00 - 12:00; 2:00 - 4:00, and 7:00 - 9:00, with a Vigil Service at 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Thursday, October 23rd at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Presentation Cemetery, Cathedral Square.
