It is with broken hearts, that on January 4, 2009, in her 87th year, Jessie R. Wolfenden (Davidson) of Ottawa, formerly of North Bay and Charlottetown, P.E.I., passed away in her home with her family at her side. Jess was the loving mum to Doug (Diane); dear mother-in-law to Joy; Granny to Shawn, Rick, Brian and Adam. Oldest sister to Mary (Norman), Evelyn and Gordie. Jess was predeceased by her beloved husband, Alan; two of her three sons, Iain and James; and her brother, Jack. Nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews will truly miss her. She will be sadly missed by the truest of friends, Rene Cooper, Rita Fagan, Joanne and Celia Moffatt and Jenny Hume. If it were not for the following people Jess' wish to remain at home would not have been possible. Dr. Dhami, Rosaline and the Melrose Family Medicine Clinic, Winnie, Karen, Lorraine and the entire CCAC team, to you all "A special Thank You". And to the Palliative Care Outreach Program, Max and Dr. Bright - what can we say, the support, sensitivity and compassion that you had for Jess and us will be something we, as a family and individuals, will hold in our hearts forever. As requested by Jess, there will be no visitation or funeral. Family and friends are invited for "An evening of Memories" at Kelly Funeral Home, Ottawa, Ontario, Saturday, January 10, 2009, from 6 to 9 p.m. A memorial mass for Jess will be held at St-Mary's Parish, Ottawa, Ontario, at a date to be confirmed.
