Davis, Milford B. “Miff” – 77, of Apple River passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Advocate Harbour, he was a son of the late Ransford and Evelyne (Fletcher) Davis. He is survived by sisters, Ina Spicer (Douglas), West Advocate; Una McWhirter, Niagara Falls, Ont.; Beverley Rafuse (Owen), Parrsboro; brother, Darrell, Truro; several nieces, nephews and cousins. As well, his chosen family, Gary and Carol Field; their children, Sam Field, Karen McCully and Raelene Field, and their five children who he considered his grandchildren; and Wayne, David and John Clarke. He was predeceased by a sister, Irene; brothers, Walter, Ronald, Max and Jerry in infancy. As per Milford’s wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Family and friends will gather at the New Salem Cemetery on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 1 p.m. for graveside committal. Reception will follow at the Advocate Fire Hall.
