MELVIN, ROLAND - Roland Harold Melvin was promoted to Glory on Sunday, October 26, 2014. Born in West Saint John on February 1, 1936. Survived by his “Newfie” wife Shirley of 56 years; three “Handsome Sons” William (Jody) of Saint John, Kevin (Kari) and Christopher (Stacey) of Fredericton; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. Also survived by five sisters Leonora of Calgary, AB, Gladys (Sonny) of Scarborough, ON, Inez and Gloria of Toronto, ON and Irene of Saint John. He was predeceased by seven brothers and one sister.
In keeping with Roland’s wishes, there will be no visitations or funeral service. A private family interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the NB Lung Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
