
Keith Bernard MacKay
It is with deepest sympathy that we announce the sudden passing of Keith (Sr.) MacKay on Oct. 25, 2014 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Glace Bay in 1933, he was the son of the late Bernard and Marion MacKay.
As a young man, Keith was a member of the Canadian Armed Forces and served in the Korean War. Upon his return, he was employed at the Highland Fisheries and then moved to Ontario to be employed there until he retired in 1993.
Keith (Sr.) will be sadly missed by his wife, Rosanne; daughters, Kathy (Piper), Carol (Ramsay), Celeste (Donnie); sons, Keith Jr. (Helen) and the late Terry (Roxanne); 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and his sister, Karleen. Also special friends, Dave and Dougie.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by our mother, Myrna (wife); brothers, Layton, Calvin, Chubby and sister, Carol.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Patten Funeral Home, 71 Union St., Glace Bay. Funeral service will take place in Patten Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, Oct. 31 at 11 a.m.
