NOSEWORTHY, Edward Richard – age 86, passed peacefully away in the presence of his loving family, January 5, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Martha of Whitbourne, sisters Mahalah, Fannie, Mabel, Carrie, Lily and brothers Norman, William, Theodore and Ernest. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 61 years Mary (Boone), son Jerry (Margie), Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia; daughter Glenda (Chris Spencer), Belleville, Ont.; grandchildren Devin (Joanne), Robin (girlfriend Heather) Noseworthy, Matthew, Andrew and Caitlin Spencer; great-grandchildren Emily and Cole Noseworthy; twin brother George (Dot) and brother Gordon (Minnie) and sisters-in-law Gwen Noseworthy, Edie Hillier, Rita (Charlie) Sturge, Betty (Dave) Thorne and many dear nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Edward spent many years as a furnace oil distributor for Imperial Oil in the St. John’s area earning much respect from his many loyal customers. Being from a large Whitbourne family, Edward learned early that people mattered more than possessions. He was universally known for his warmth, generosity and quirky sense of humour. When he wasn’t helping out his friends and family, he was known to haunt the barrens in pursuit of all sorts of berries or walk for hours up to the head of Rocky River casting for trout. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 2-9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Funeral service to be held from The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Craigmillar Avenue on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Kenmount Road.
