Staples, Dexter Lawrence, 70, of Toronto, ON, and formerly of Truro, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in Toronto. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Rayburn and Helen (Langille) Staples.He is survived by sisters Leona Pye (Burt) of Truro, Etta Dewar of Truro; nieces Heather (Sandy) McLane, Lynn Pye,, Kelly Simms, all of Truro; nephews Glen (Susan) Dewar of Quispamsis, NB, Bruce (Tracey) Dewar of Porter’s Lake, Randall Dewar of Truro; 6 great nephews and 4 great nieces.
He was predeceased by his brothers Rufus and Murray Staples; brother-in-law Carson Dewar.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro from where visitation will take place on Saturday, Nov. 8th from 10:00 am until funeral service time at 11:00 am. Reverend Mary J. White will officiate with burial to follow in Crossroads Cemetery, Valley. Family flowers only. Donations in Dexter’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
