Valmore LeBlanc
LeBLANC, VALMORE ALDERIC - 1934 - 2014 - Valmore Alderic LeBlanc, 80, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Moncton on January 14, 1934, he was the son of the late Alderic and Nathalie (LeBlanc) LeBlanc. Val grew up in Saint John and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for several years after graduation. A varied career followed, working in bookkeeping at several companies, as an electrician at the CNR shops, as a commissionaire, and at Cover To Cover Books, until his retirement at age 77. Val enjoyed reading and crosswords, and had been a member of AA for over 30 years and the Knights of Columbus St. Augustine’s Council 7940. He is survived by two daughters: Kim (Paul) LeBlanc and Debbie (Stan) Barriault, both of Moncton; one son, Tony (Debbie) LeBlanc of Riverview; seven grandchildren: Tony’s children Chris LeBlanc of Riverview, Nathalie LeBlanc of Wolfville, Jenn (Patrick) Clark of Riverview, Josh LeBlanc of Fredericton, Debbie’s children Parker Barriault, Brayden Barriault and Kaylan Barriault, all of Moncton; one sister, Jeannine (Alfred) Lalonde of Laval, QC; two brothers: Brother Bernard, csc, of Montreal, QC, and Father Rheal, csc, of Welland, ON,; his sister-in-law, Doreen (Halfpenny) LeBlanc of Dieppe, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara (Lorette) LeBlanc (1992); one sister, Cecile (1963); five brothers: Paul (2000), Roger (2007), Rene (2005), Philip (2014), and John (2010). Special thanks to the palliative care team and the staff on 3600 for the excellent care shown to Dad these last weeks, and the many doctors, nurses and staff at both the Moncton Hospital and the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital during his illness.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Sunday from 2 to 4pm, and 7 to 9pm only. The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, 340 Dominion Street, Moncton, on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 10:30 am. Reception in the church hall following the mass. Interment at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery in Dieppe.
