FISHER, SHERMAN ROY - Sherman R. Fisher, 80, of Dundas, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, November 6, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Scotland, he was the son of the late Orvil and Gladys (Randall) Fisher. Sherman was a retired electrician having worked in the trade for over 48 years. He was a proud member of I.B.E.W. Local 1555. He enjoyed writing. Published numerous times, he was the recipient of several literary awards. He was also an accomplished craftsman. His talent and attention to detail were evident in the restoration of the century old home he shared with his wife Mae. Sherman will be sadly missed by his devoted wife of 60 years, Mae (Hannah) Fisher; loving children, Harold Fisher (Judy) of New Scotland, Wendy Donnahee (John) of Dundas, Marlene Bertelsen (Brian) of Suffolk, PE and Marilyn Fisher of Dieppe; grandchildren, Hal (Liza), David, Rebecca (Travis), Adam (Lindsay), Sherman (Corinna), Leonard (Julie) and Diane (Tyler); great-grandchildren, Alex, Caleb, Liam, Nathan, Oscar, Oliver, Abby, Dustin and Celeste; brother, Wilfred Fisher (Dorothy) and Sterling Fisher (Dale); sister, Elida Horsman. He is also survived by special family friend, Joe Baril. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Hazel Bell and Kaye Fowler; infant sister and brother, Eleanor and Dennis.
Private family Graveside Service to be held at Gladeside Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Hannah officiating. Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) in care of arrangements. In Sherman’s memory, donations to the Lung Association or a memorial of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
