It is with great sadness that the family of the late Mabel Inez Joyce announce her passing on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook at the age of 69 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her son Blaine (Tammy) Joyce; grandsons: Jordan and Ryan Joyce, mother Elizabeth Sheppard; brothers: Keith (Rosalie) Sheppard, Kevin (Mabel) Sheppard and Lee (Dale) Sheppard; sister Faye Sheppard; as well as a large circle of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father Wilfred Sheppard, baby brother Gordon Sheppard and Blaine’s father Fletcher Joyce. A special thank you to sister Rosalie and staff at Xavier House for their support and care over the years as well as Dr. Coleman and staff at both 4 North, Long Term Care and 4AB Western Memorial Regional Hospital. Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 218 Curling Street, Corner Brook on Saturday and Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 10 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Mary the Virgin Anglican Church in Curling with Rev. Rosemarie Payne officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Lark Harbour. As expressions of sympathy flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association.
