Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park on Friday, November 7, 2014 in the arms of his loving family, John Patrick Hennessey, in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his first wife Mercedes (Keough) Hennessey; parents John and Margaret (Martin) Hennessey; sister Mary and cousin Joseph. Leaving to mourn his loving wife, Evelyn Devereaux; children Moira, David (Bernice), Paul and Lynn; his stepchildren Gerrianne (Ed), Marie (Brian), John (Laura), Mona and Donald (Joanne); his grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Stephen and Kyle, Lauren and Andrew, Dawn (Chris) and Meghan (Tobias), Marc and Michael, and Aidan and Christian. Also leaving to mourn his sisters - in - law Mona Dooley (Don), Bernice Keough and Eleanor King; his special niece Maureen Barry (Ian); special friends Loretta and Michael Maloney, Ray and Sadie O'Brien and other family and close friends. Special thanks is extended to the very kind and caring staff at Chancellor Park, especially the staff on 1 West who provided loving care for John over the past two years. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Sunday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 pm. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 from St. Teresa's Church, Mundy Pond Road at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in John's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation.
