ANDERSON – Ruby Marguerite – 90 years of age from Swift Current passed away on November 5, 2014 at the Herbert Integrated Health Care Facility. Ruby enjoyed great health throughout the majority of her life and passed away peacefully in her sleep. Ruby (nee Pretty) Anderson, widow of Embert Anderson was born on November 20, 1923 in the homestead house east of Success in the Whitehall district. She was predeceased by her husband Embert in March 2006; one son Ellwood Emil in 1946; and 3 sisters Pearl, Hazel and Olive. She is survived by her 5 children: Donna Thurber, Raymond Anderson, Doug Anderson, Dianne Anderson and Wes Coates, and Kathy and Dale Cates; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Ruby will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all of her family, friends and all that knew her. Ruby’s family would like to convey their heartfelt thanks to Cypress Regional Hospital, Herbert Heritage Manor and Herbert & District Integrated Health Care Facility for the excellent care she received. In her memory donations can be made to St. Olaf Lutheran Church Memorial Fund or to the Herbert Heritage Manor. A funeral service was held on Monday, November 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Pastor Greg Kiel officiating. Ushers were Brian Knight and Mark Miller. The pallbearers were: Gerald Thurber, Spencer Knight, Lance Anderson, Dave Nadon, Dallas Sutherland and Tyler Cates. The eulogy was read by Blair Anderson-Croft and the organist was Arlie Neufeld.
