The death occurred peacefully, at the home of his daughter on November 3, 2014, of Carl Joseph Gaudet of St. Catharines, Ontario, and formerly of Tignish, aged 75 years. Dear husband of Rose Marie (nee Gaudet). Beloved son of Angelina (nee Perry) Gaudet of Tignish Seniors Co-op and the late Ferdinand Gaudet. Loving father of Carol (Wes) Danis, Rachel (John) Convertine, Pauline (Kevin) Lauzon, and Gerard (Naomi) Gaudet. Loving pépé of Ashley (Gail), Chris (Krista), Ryan, Natalie (Michael), Jay, Alexandra, Vanessa and Sofia; and great-grandfather of Arianna and Myles. Dear brother of Jean (Joseph) Shea, Rose (Keir) MacDonald, Joseph (Barbara) Gaudet and Angela (Dennis) Gaudet. Dear brother-in-law of Alma Gaudet, Edna Gaudet, Nelson (Denise) Gaudet, Edgar (Eunice) Gaudet, Ben (Edith) Gaudet, Arthur (Veronica) Gaudet and Austin McLellan. Carl was predeceased by his father Ferdinand; his father-in-law and mother-in-law Arthur and Beatrice Gaudet; his sisters Marie Griffin Murphy, Irma Skerry and Gloria McLellan; his sister-in-law Josephine Arsenault; and his brothers-in-law William Arsenault, Francis Gaudet, Gerard Gaudet, Wilfred Griffin, Richard Murphy and Malcolm Skerry. Carl was a retired plumber, pipe fitter and active member of Local Union 666 for over 50 years. He was a cherished family member and a devoted Catholic who lived by the 'Serenity Prayer'. Carl spent his last days at the home of his daughter Carol surrounded by his children, his grandchildren and his loving wife of 53 years. Carl gave up his spirit in deep faith and trust in the Lord. His very large and meaningful funeral was held at St. Mary of Assumption Church, St. Catharines, Ont., on Nov. 10, 2014.
