The death occurred at his home, Grand Père Point, on Monday, November 24, 2014, of Gerard Blacquiere, beloved husband of Joan Blacquiere (nee Gallant), aged 50.
He was the awesome, loving father of Jordan and Hailey. Gerard is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Brian (Bev), Betty Myers (Bill), Janice, Rosie Doiron (Allister), Lennie (Sherry) and Craig (Anne); and brothers and sisters-in-law, Gladys Gallant, Edna Doucette (Aeneas), Denis, Audrey, Eric (Donna), Melvin (Roma), Marcella (Paul), Francis (Marlene), Anne Marie Vessey (John), Delma Good (Jim), Reggie (Melissa), Phyllis Arsenault (Shane), Michael (Susan), Carl (Samantha), Earlene Larkin, Kay Kelly and Karen Skeffington. Gerard was an uncle and a great-uncle to many, whom he loved dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ferdie and Eleanor (Peters) Blacquiere; father and mother-in-law, Gelas and Margaret (Gallant) Gallant; brothers-in-law, Edwin and Bernie Gallant; and infant nephew, Jamie Myers.
Resting at Central Queen's Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Thursday, November 27, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, South Rustico, on Friday, November 28, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Augustine's Cemetery. Due to severe allergies, please refrain from wearing scented products.
