Kenneth Crews

Major Kenneth Gordon Crews, 77, of Pictou, was promoted to glory on November 30, 2014 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, after fighting a brave battle with Parkinson Disease for 14 years, without complaint.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late George and Susanna Crews.
After Kenneth graduated from Queen Elizabeth School, Halifax he entered the Salvation Army Training College, Toronto in 1958 and served for 42 years as a minister in various locations across Canada, retiring in 2001. He was a man of great faith and prayer, and his keen sense of humour and quick wit will be missed by all who knew him.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Jeannette (Anstey); children: Miriam (Tim) Leslie, Gibsons, B.C.; Kenny (Audrey), Westville; Kevin (Betty), Pictou; Tim (Kris); Miles City, Montana; grandchildren: Ruby, Keshia, Nicole (Eric), Kenneth Michael, Daniel, Tiffany (Donavin), Kyle, Michael Loren, and Christian. Kenneth is also survived by sister, Marina Crews, Toronto and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by siblings: Don, Stan, Tommy, Maude, several half-brothers and a half-sister.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday from the Salvation Army Church, Westville, with Capt. Neil Abbott officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. Burial will be in Seaview Cemetery.
Family flowers only please and a scent free environment is requested. Donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army Church, Westville, Gideon’s or Maritime Region Parkinson Society.
