Peacefully at the Prince Edward Home on Saturday, January 10, 2009, of Ida Morrissey (nee Rooney) of Charlottetown and formerly of Earnscliffe, age 93
years. Beloved wife of the late Alphonsus Edward Morrissey and loving mother of Georgina Sauve (Paul), Edward Morrissey (Geri), Helen McKenna (Gavan), Kenneth Morrissey (Shawn), Florence Redmond (Leo), Anita Morrissey, Marlene Glover (Dwight) and Edwin Morrissey (Theresa). Ida is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; sisters Mary McInnis (Reg - deceased), Dorothy Kennedy (Alton - deceased) and Georgina LeCour (Glen) and her brother John Rooney (Dorothy). She was predeceased by her sons, Kevin and Alban Morrissey; grandson Neil Morrissey; parents John and Elizabeth (nee Dreelan) Rooney; sister Patricia Kluke (Tony - deceased) and brothers William Rooney (Julia - deceased); Michael Rooney, Leo Rooney (Mary - deceased) and James Rooney (Joan - deceased). Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, 2 Hollis Ave., Stratford, for visitation on Monday, January 12, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 13, at St. Joachim\'s Church, Vernon River, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joachim\'s Church Cemetery.
