The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, January 11, 2009, of Luz-mery Aldana-Cortes of Charlottetown and formerly of Colombia, age 44 years. Survived by her common-law husband, Ambrocio Penagos; her sons, Edinson Penagos, Colombia, Luis Alberto Penagos, Colombia and Ricaurte Penagos, Charlottetown, and her brothers-in-law, Bertil Vargas, Hamilton, Ont., and Gerardo Penagos, Hamilton, Ont. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 Wednesday morning then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Visiting hours at the funeral home on Tuesday 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.islandowned.ca.
