LEGRIS, GEORGE - The death of George Legris occurred on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital after a short illness. Born in 1925 in Haileybury, ON, George graduated from the University of Toronto and was employed as a news editor with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Ontario and Manitoba for nearly 30 years. He moved to Saint John, New Brunswick in 1989 and was an active volunteer with many organizations over the years. George is survived by his children Margaret (Brian), Joseph, Peter (Lorene), Mary, Sylvia and Paul (Kathleen); companion Jini Lander; six grandchildren; Shawn Legris, Joel Legris, Dele Oworu, Paul Malegus, David Legris and Marc Legris. He was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, wife Ruth (Leslie) Legris, wife Patricia Legris and companion Elizabeth McGarvey.
