RICHARD, ELOI J. - (1929 - 2014) - GALLOWAY, NB - Eloi J. Richard 85, of Galloway, NB passed away peacefully at the Rexton Lions Nursing Home on Saturday, December 27, 2014. Born in Kent Lake, NB he was the son of the late Antoine Richard and late Vitaline (Thibodeau) Richard. Before retiring, Eloi was employed as a Park Warden at Kouchibouguac National Park. He was a member of the 4th Degree of the Knights of Colombus, he served in the Korean War and was also a lifetime member of the Richibucto Legion Branch No. 30. Eloi will be sadly missed by his wife, Eveline (Guimond) Richard of Galloway; two daughters, Francine Doucette (Alvin) of Saint Charles, Gisele Richard (Leonard Ryan) of Bass River; two sons, Odilon Richard of West Galloway, Ronald Richard (Cécile) of Val Bélair, Quebec; seven grandchildren, Rachelle, David, Marie-Jade, Jessica, Alexandre, Ryan, Julian and two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Shelly. He was also survived by one brother, Edmund Richard (Julia) of Irishtown and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one son, Tilmon Richard.
Visitation will be held at Thompson's Funeral Home, Richibucto on Monday from 7 to 9 pm, Tuesday at 9:00 am until departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00 am, St. Louis de Gonzague Roman Catholic Church, Richibucto. Interment will be held in the Aldouane Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Eloi's memory may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
