George Albert Miles, of Bryan Street, Whitney Pier, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, surrounded by family.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late George and Shirley (Hareguay) Miles.
George was an oil burner mechanic by trade and worked for the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia (Lewis); daughter, Carol Lynn Miles (T. J. Young), Sydney; son, George (Sara Corderio), Sydney; grandchildren, Savannah Timbury, North Sydney, Davin Corderio, Hannah Lewis and Patrick Young, all of Sydney.
Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his sister, Judy Silver.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Friday at 11 a.m., with Rev. Laura McCue officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
Memorials may be made to palliative care or the Cancer Center at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
