David Broad
BROAD, DAVID "DAVE" - September 1953 – December 2014 - The passing of Dave Broad of Regina, SK occurred on December 22, 2014 following a lengthy illness. Dave was predeceased by his parents Earl and Julia Broad of Woodstock, NB. He will be greatly missed by his wife Lori Foster of Regina, SK; his son Jason Foster of Kelowna, BC; his daughter Susan Foster of Calgary, AB; his brother Larry Broad (Rhonda) of Fredericton, NB; and nephews Jeremy Broad (Claudia) of Sliema, Malta and Aaron Broad (Kendra) of Fredericton, NB. Born in Woodstock, NB Dave graduated from Woodstock High School. He then furthered his education graduating with a BA from Acadia University, MA from the University of Regina and PhD from Carleton University. He taught at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College in Corner Brook, NL and was a professor in the Department of Sociology & Social Studies at University of Regina. Dave spent his life fighting for social justice and against poverty and inequality. He volunteered his time and energy in this fight to realize his dream of a better world. His writings and work on social justice are internationally recognized. Dave enjoyed traveling, including sabbaticals with his family in Europe and Australia, and had passions for motorcycling and music.
