O'BRIEN, MARILYN - It is with profound sadness the family of Marilyn (Teehan) O’Brien, loving wife of 48 years of Frank O’Brien of Saint John announces her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, January 2nd 2015. Born March1944 in Saint John, daughter to the late Joseph and Grace (Green) Teehan. Marilyn was a graduate of St. Vincent’s Girls High School and Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing. As a Registered Nurse Marilyn worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital and Rocmaura Nursing Home. In the past she was actively involved with Scouts Canada in the province of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Marilyn was well known for making the best homemade cookies for everyone her family, friends and strangers. In recent years she was a devoted volunteer at Romero House, where she and Frank enjoyed serving their community. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister aunt and friend. Nan will be missed by all. Besides her husband Frank, Marilyn is survived by her sister Mary Elaine Holmes; daughter Christina Lynn Martin (Michael) their children Kathleen and Ryan of Kingston, ON; sons John (Melissa) of Calgary, AB; Michael and his daughter Emma of Vanderhoof BC; Kevin (Krista) and their children Andria, Elizabeth and Thomas of Riverview; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her sister Margaret Evelyn in infancy.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation on Monday, January 5th from 2 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 50 Clarendon Street on Tuesday, January 6th at 11:00 a.m. Private family interment to take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.
