The death occurred at the Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, N.S., on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, of B. Joan MacLean of O’Leary aged 70, beloved wife of Willis MacLean. Joan was born on April 18, 1944, in O’Leary, daughter of the late Elmer and Verna (Foley) Shaw. Cherished mother to Lisa (James) Gamble, Alaska. Loving grandmother to Amanda (Aaron Smith), Halifax; Ashley (Ryan Moore), Charlottetown; Alex, Charlottetown and Jamie, Alaska. Dear sister to Layton (Lorraine) Shaw, Springfield West; Sheila (Tom) Gain, O’Leary and Eugene (Nola) Shaw, Springfield West. Joan was predeceased by her parents, father and mother-in-law Aulden and Eva (Silliker) MacLean; sister and brother in law Ann (Lawson ) Gray and great niece Roxanne Gray. Resting at the Ferguson Funeral and Chapel, O’Leary, with visiting hours Monday, Jan. 5, 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in the Bethel United Church Cemetery. In memory of Joan, memorials to the Bethel United Church Cemetery or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
