It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of David Young, 58, of Sydney Mines, formerly of Florence, on Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at home, surrounded by all his family.
Born in Florence on July 20, 1956, he was the son of the late Henry Joseph and Florence (Lovell) Young.
He was well known for the Auto Body work he did in his yard, and over the years he also worked for J.J. Auto Body, Mark Forrest Auto Body, and MacInnis Auto Body.
He was a loving father to his sons, Darrell Francis Young (Ashley Clarke) and David Jason Young (Lacey Pink). He also leaves behind his companion Emily Keeping, the mother of his children, Dorothy Young; mother-in-law, Joan Campbell; brothers, Henry Young (Debbie), Cyril Young (Claire) and Alex Young (Sharon) and sisters, Catherine King (Joe) and Emmaline Penny (Stewie); sisters-in-law, Theresa Young, Judy Young and Karen Young, his best friend and nephew, William Young Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, David was predeceased by brothers, William Young, Michael Young and Charlie Young and sister, Mary Young.
The family of David Young will receive visitors in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at 10 a.m. A celebration of his life will take place at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Deacon Greg Murphy officiating.
